Maintenance
CYO school buses are not only clean and well-maintained on the outside, but they are in excellent shape under the hood as well.
All vehicles operated by CYO Transportation are inspected and certified by the California Highway Patrol and are maintained according to CHP and California State Department of Education regulations.
All CYO buses are inspected annually, at minimum, at our Daly City facility by a CHP motor carrier officer. Documentation relating to each inspection is on file at our office and is available for public review. A Vehicle Inspection Approval Certificate is posted on each bus indicating CHP inspection and declared it safe for student operation.
In addition to the CHP inspections, California State law requires that each vehicle is inspected every 3,000 miles or 45 days, whichever comes first. All inspections and related maintenance are performed at our Daly City facility. CYO Transportation believes strongly in preventative maintenance, catching minor issues before they become major problems.
Our buses are maintained in strict accordance with manufacturer recommendations and requirements. In addition, we follow a strict preventative maintenance schedule, with includes:
- Daily inspection by driver.
- Inspection of belts, hoses, and fluid levels each day.
- Defects found as a result of the above inspections will be repaired immediately if found to be safety-related.
