Our Beginnings

CYO purchased its first school bus in 1977 to provide transportation for inter-agency charters for weekend retreats and summer camp.  Over the next several years, we saw an opportunity to serve the community, support CYO’s mission of serving youth, and generate important revenue to benefit these youth-serving programs. 

CYO Transportation has been providing school bus services to a variety of public, private, and parochial schools, as well as numerous youth-serving organizations, for over 30 years.  Our commitment to the care and safety of the children/students on board our buses is the cornerstone upon which we were founded.

Since 1984, CYO Transportation has grown to include 55 home-to-school routes serving 18 schools and over 100 charters per month serving a client base of 350 schools and organizations.  Today CYO Transportation has 31 buses, 29 dedicated employees, our own in-house maintenance program, and consulting services to assist schools in the purchase and maintenance of buses and bus driver training.  Through these milestones and successes, CYO Transportation now has an annual budget in excess of $2.9 million.
